Is Kaka The Answer To City’s Prayers?

Kaka Manchester City AC Milan

Rewind 12 months and any talk of Kaka moving to Manchester City would have made more people laugh until they cried. With the Manchester club now the richest in the world they can now bring in anyone they want, with Brazilian mega-star their number one target.

There is no doubting the quality of Kaka, he is an excellent player who is as comfortable in a dead ball situation as anyone else in the world. I could talk about Kaka’s attributes all day long and there is no doubting he would vastly improve any side he walked into. I feel however, that there are other more pressing issues for Mark Hughes to consider.

Kaka will provide any side with goals but it isn’t goals City need. Their defence has been woeful this season and the back four is something that surely needs a rethink. I know most City fans won’t want to hear this but I don’t think Richard Dunne possesses the class to be a part of a top four side, which is surely the heights City are aiming for with all their money. Micah Richards is undoubtedly a talent but is still very much a work-in-progress and they need a real quality centre-half to realise their ambitions. Until they do something about their shaky defence I for one certainly won’t be backing them with my football betting.

There are encouraging signs in terms of these transfers coming out of Manchester. They’ve already brought in Wayne Bridge who is, in my opinion at least, one of the best full-backs in the country is not the world. They’ve also been linked with tough-tackling Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong and I think the 24-year-old would make a big impact in City’s midfield.

No one would deny that Kaka would remarkably improve any sides attacking quality. I would also love too see him playing week in week out in the Premier League but from a City perspective they have other areas in which they need to improve. Until City have a team, rather than just an attack, that is truly world-class I will be leaving them well alone in terms of football betting tips.
